Phoenix Wine Parties

Phoenix Wine Parties is the Valley's premier wine experience company, where sommelier-led tastings meet carefully curated wines—from hidden gems to legendary bottles. We believe wine should spark joy, not intimidation, which is why our signature style blends expertise with genuine fun.

Founded by Peter Juneja, "The Not So Snobby Wine Guy," our company was born from a simple belief: everyone deserves to discover amazing wine in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Though we lost Peter in 2024, his passion for making wine accessible and enjoyable lives on through our dedicated team. We're honored to continue his mission of creating memorable wine moments that bring people together—one pour at a time.

Meet Our Wine Team

My passion for wine is like fine Bordeaux, it took a bit of time to grow, open up and burst onto the scene. I first got interested in wine through my work as a travel journalist. From exploring New Zealand’s racy Sauvignon Blancs via moped, to being shown South Africa’s Winelands by the country’s top young sommelier, my interest in wine grew. I was fascinated by the nuances in wine created by terroir, and I was hooked on learning and tasting more. While I loved learning and trying more and more, I also wanted to share the experience with others. When I first had the chance to pour wine for a distributor and I was able to introduce people to wines they never thought they would like and see their eyes light up when they did, I knew I wanted to have that experience again and again. I earned my sommelier credential and started teaching wine classes, with a special focus on combining wine and travel to give my guests the flavor of “traveling” to a new wine region each class, without leaving Arizona. My tastings are immersive, conversational experiences that combine wine education with the stories behind the region, winemakers and wines we try. I hope that you leave knowing a bit more about wine, found a new wine you love and most importantly, that you had a hell of a lot of fun. I still continue to write about wine and travel for various publications. I was a 2024 Wine Writers' Symposium Fellow, and I'm the only Arizona member of the prestigious international Circle of Wine Writers. What wine do you drink when no one's watching? As a sommelier, my friends all think my wine cellar is filled only with expensive bottles, and that I’m regularly popping the cork on Champagne on a random Tuesday. Nothing could be further from the truth. While I appreciate those types of wines, I also love finding the unexpected hidden gem. This could be a moderately priced bottle from a niche producer, a lesser-known varietal, or a cheap bottle that drinks expensive. I’ll let you in on a little secret…my actual go-to, random Tuesday wine is Mbali, a Chenin Blanc/Viognier blend that is a great $5.99 Trader Joe’s find! If you were a wine, what would you be and why? White Burgundy. Firstly, because despite not being able to master the language, I’m sure I was French in a past life, and secondly, because, like Chardonnay, I’ve had to reinvent myself many times. Favorite wine region: Burgundy

What wine do you drink when no one's watching? When no one's watching, I’m popping the cork on something bubbly! Whether it’s a crisp Prosecco, a cheeky Cava, or a classic Champagne, I’m a huge fan of all things sparkling. There’s just something about those effervescent bubbles that makes even an ordinary Tuesday feel like a celebration. If you were a wine, what would you be and why? If I were a wine, I’d be a Barbera. Why? Because Barbera is the ultimate easy-going companion—medium-bodied (sometimes lighter), with fine tannins and absolutely no rough edges. It’s packed with fun flavors of cherry and berry, always bringing a warm, spicy hug and a lively acidity to the party. Just like me, it’s approachable, a little bit zesty, and always ready to brighten up your day. Favorite wine region •Southern Rhône for white wines—where the sun-kissed vineyards create whites that are fresh, aromatic, and full of character. •Salta, Argentina for reds—high-altitude Malbecs and Cabernets that are bold, vibrant, and a little adventurous (just the way I like it). •Champagne for sparkling—because nothing says “let’s celebrate” like a glass of the world’s finest bubbles. •Provence for Rosé—the home of effortlessly elegant pink wines, perfect for sipping on a sunny afternoon. Cheers to great wine, good company, and a little sparkle in every glass!
